Memories

(Ray Watson)

Standing at the graveside
of an old forgiven past
Memories are all that's left of you
Bitterness and pain
are strangers to me now
Memories are all that's left of you

Flicking through the pages
of a diary filled with fear
Memories are all that's left of you
Looking through the years
filled with tears
Now memories are all that's left of you

They can't touch me now
They can't hurt me now
Now I know the secret of love

I release myself in worship
I give it all to you
I come before your throne of love
And bare my heart to you
I will love you with the love
That you've freely given me
And my heart will never be cold
It will never be old
It will always be free

Trying to revive in me
an old forgiven part of me
Those memories that haunt a man
made new
I'm holding on to life
in Jesus Christ
Your memories that haunt a man made new
They can't touch me now
They can't hurt me now
Now I know the secret of love

I release myself in worship
I give it all to you
I come before your throne of love
And bare my heart to you
I will love you with the love
That I freely give to you
And my heart will never be cold
It will never grow old
It will always be new.

Have you ever looked back over your life and felt the pain of your past? We all have our own private memories, many and few. "The heart knows its sorrows, no stranger shares its joy." This is a very intimate and moving song about the healing of memories. i like it so much.

LETTING GO
(GOT THIS FROM MY BULLETIN IN FRIENDSTER)

To let go doesn't mean to stop caring, it means I
can't do it for someone else.

To let go is not to cut myself off, it's the realization
that I can't control another.

To let go is not to enable, but to allow learning
from natural consequences.

To let go is to admit powerlessness, which means
the outcome is not in my hands.

To let go is not to try to change or blame another, I
can only change myself.

To let go is not to care for, but to care about.

To let go is not to fix, but to be supportive.

To let go is not to judge, but to allow another to be
a human being.

To let go is not to be in the middle arranging all the
outcome, but to allow others To effect their own
outcomes.

To let go is not to be protective, it is to permit
another to face reality.

To let go is not to deny, but to accept.

To let go is not to nag, scold, or argue, but to
search out my own shortcomings and to correct
them.

To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires,
but to take each day as it comes, and to cherish
the moment.

To let go is not to criticize or regulate anyone, but
to try to become whatever dream I can be.

To let go is not to regret the past, but to grow and
live for the future.

"In the Kingdom of God, the surest way to lose
something is to try to protect it and the best way to
keep it is to let it go" -A.W. Tozer
